Silent Book Club

Silent Book Club

A diverse group of students poses for a photo in a library, surrounded by books.
Two young people lie on a blanket under desks, wearing headphones and reading.
A tall stack of books, including 'The Secret of the Swamp King' and 'Eventown', sits on a table.

Silent Book Club is a nontraditional book club where students read what they want to (independently) in a comfortable setting (the library) with their peers. The club meets weekly, on Thursdays, from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. The first 40 minutes are dedicated to reading but the last 15 minutes offer club members the opportunity to socialize. The intention for SBC is that it gives students a dedicated time to read, provides positive experiences with books, and helps build a bigger community of readers at Journey.

All club communication will be sent via ParentSquare to group members.
